Philip Hoover

Philip Hoover, born and raised in New York City, is a pianist studying under Tema Blackstone of The Juilliard School of Music. He attended The Aspen Music Festival during the Summer of 2017 under the tutelage of Hung-Kuan Chen. Passionate about music, Philip is an avid performer winning top prizes in the 2016 and 2017 Concert Festival International Competitions and the 2016 American Protégé Piano Competition. He was also named a 2016 MERIT Youth Fellow by The Music Academy of the West and is a Young Artist of the Artemisia Akademie at Yale. Philip attends The Dalton School in Manhattan studying in the 9th grade. His other interests include math, computer science, chess, competitive tennis and soccer.
