Daniel Haiduc

Thirteen-year-old Daniel Haiduc has been studying piano since kindergarten. He participated in piano recitals at the Liederkranz Foundation, Jazz at Lincoln Center, Steinway Hall, and Tishman Auditorium at Mannes School of Music. During the past four years, Daniel has performed at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall four times. He won first prize in his age group at The Piano Teachers Congress of New York Piano Competition, The Brooklyn Music Teachers Guild Intercontinental Piano Competition, and International Grande Music Competition. He completed the 2018 Mannes Prep Summer Chamber Intensive Program, where he took masterclasses from cellist Soo Bae and pianist Gena Raps. Additionally, he performed in masterclasses for Alessio Bax and professor Meng-Chieh Liu. Daniel is currently studying piano with Juilliard teachers Tema Blackstone and Hung-Kuan Chen, and music theory, analysis, and composition with Eric Chernov.

An honor student of The John Hopkins Center for Talented Youth for two years, Daniel received the silver medal at The Stevens Mathematics Olympiad, the merit certificate at the American Mathematics Competition (AMC8), ranked first in Hudson County at Math League Competition, and won his school’s Spelling Bee championship last year. He loves solving different Rubik’s cubes, playing tennis, skiing, watching classical music comedy, and enjoys taking aerial photographs and videos in his free time.
