Harmony Zhu

A Young Steinway Artist, Harmony Zhu has been featured many times on shows including NBC’s The Ellen DeGeneres Show, CBC News, and NPR’s From the Top. Harmony has appeared with The Philadelphia Orchestra, Israel Philharmonic, Detroit Symphony, Orlando Philharmonic, among others, with some of the most venerated conductors including Yannick Nézet-Séguin, Leonard Slatkin, and John Giordano. The summer of 2018 marked her debut appearances at the Ravinia Music Festival, celebrating the 100th anniversary of Leonard Bernstein’s birth, and at the Aspen Music Festival’s Benedict Music Tent with the ACA Orchestra. This November, Harmony is looking forward to making her debut at Carnegie Hall’s Stern Auditorium. A student of Yoheved Kaplinsky at Juilliard Pre-College since 2014, Harmony won the Concerto Competition in her first year of study there. Her most recent wins include being the youngest winner of the 2018 Bachauer Scholarship Competition and the 2018 Aspen Music Festival concerto competition. In chess, Harmony holds the World Champion title in her age group after her win in the World Youth Chess Championships. Besides music and chess, Harmony enjoys drawing, photography, creative writing, spelling, math, history, dancing, singing, ping pong, and bird watching.
